Privacy Policy
Who we are
BudgetMo is a household budgeting app. This policy explains what we collect and why. We do not sell your personal information.
Account information
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an account identifier and, when the provider shares them, your name, email, and profile photo. Apple may hide your email behind a private relay address.
Household and app data
On your device we store your household name, member names, photos you add, category choices, events, and the transactions and balances we have synced. Theme preference is also stored on device.
Bank data
If you connect a financial institution, Plaid provides account balances and transactions so BudgetMo can build your month view. We do not receive your bank password. Plaid’s privacy policy covers the data it processes to make that connection.
How we use information
We use this information to sign you in, keep your household books, remember your category overrides, and operate the app. We do not use your bank data for advertising.
Sharing
We share data with Firebase (authentication and backend) and Plaid (bank connections) only as needed to provide BudgetMo. A partner you invite can see the household books on their device. We do not sell personal information.
Retention and deletion
You can delete your profile in BudgetMo. That deletes your signed-in account. If you are the only person in the household, we delete the household stored in BudgetMo and disconnect Plaid items for those banks. Your banks stay open. If a partner remains, they keep the shared books and you cannot walk back in with the same Apple or Google account unless they invite you. Signing out keeps your household so you can return.
Children
BudgetMo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date will change when we do.
